There’s nothing like playing music with other people. It is so much fun! That’s what I wanted my students to experience during our first EW Jam in the new studio.

We had two sessions, with Doug, Darrell, Dave and Gene in the morning group; and Maddie, Jake, John, Beth, Kelli and Mike in the afternoon group.

We learned to play two songs together: “Stir it Up” by Bob Marley and the Wailers and “Santeria” by Sublime. I guided the jammers through the songs so that they could play both songs completely by the end of the jam session.

The jam was a great opportunity for my students to learn two new songs in a group setting and experience what it is like to play music with others. I dare to say new friends were made as well. Just what I hoped for!

I plan on hosting jams several more times this year, so stay tuned.
